Four questions to add to your brewing.
Here are four questions to ask when designing and implementing your heart-felt creative project.
Hi! This short blog post is for you if you are thinking about designing and implementing a creative project that you hope will change the world - or at least, your world. The indispensable ingredient will always be courage. But here are four questions to add to your brewing.
What would I like to do? Only you can answer this. And answering this with both your heart and mind will bring you to a beautiful place of passion and clarity. And in every way possible, allow your heart to weep its outrageous desires to you and your mind to create beautiful collages of what could become. In plain language, decide your project and develop your plan. Jot down your thoughts and keep them close.
Your heart and mind will bring you to a beautiful place of passion and clarity.
Who am I doing this for? Who is on your heart as you think about your project? Does a name come to mind? Is it your neighbor? Childhood best friend? Students at the local school? Is it yourself? Think through all the people that could experience this offering you are putting together. And design this project with them in mind. And while you’re at it, read this Harvard Business School article on human-centered design to feel smarter.
How much? (This is not a money question) See your heart as an investment. How much heart you put into something matters. Not everything deserves your heart because seeing something through is a product of vulnerability. And I encourage you to be vulnerable when YOU are ready and in a safe space.
Seeing something through is being open to failing — especially when you have failed before…
It is fluid creativity coupled with courage and curiosity. It’s coming back to the drawing board as many times as you need to while keeping yourself accountable to desired timelines. It is fun, and it can also be hard.
What is ONE thing I need to do TODAY? Every calendar day counts. So if you had to do ONE thing today what would it be? Do it.
